Cooking and Nutrition
At Assigned Guardian Angels, we believe that everyday life skills can create meaningful opportunities for independence, confidence, and personal growth. Our Cooking Class Program is designed to support individuals with disabilities to develop practical cooking and meal preparation skills in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.
This hands-on and person-centred program encourages participants to actively engage in every step of the cooking process — from planning meals and preparing ingredients to learning kitchen safety and enjoying meals together. The program is tailored to align with each participant’s individual goals and abilities, helping them build skills that can be applied in their daily lives.
More than just cooking, the program focuses on developing essential life skills that promote greater independence and participation within the community. Participants are supported to gain confidence using kitchen equipment, follow routines, and make healthy food choices that contribute to their overall wellbeing.
Our Cooking Class Program also creates opportunities for social connection and teamwork. Participants work together, communicate, share responsibilities, and enjoy a positive group environment that encourages friendship and inclusion.
Through the program, participants can work towards achieving:
-
Increased independence in meal preparation
-
Improved health and nutrition awareness
-
Enhanced confidence in using kitchen equipment
-
Development of routine and planning skills
-
Improved social interaction and teamwork
-
Increased participation in daily living activities
At Assigned Guardian Angels, we are committed to creating engaging and meaningful experiences that empower participants to build practical skills and greater confidence in everyday life.
